About us

ORTUS is a multi-award winning conferencing and events venue located in Camberwell, London. Built by Maudsley Charity, ORTUS is operated on a break even basis for the benefit of the community, the charity’s partners and grantees. It provides a welcoming space for learning and connection for NHS and university staff and students, mental health service users, Maudsley Charity-backed projects and our local community.

ORTUS was opened in June 2013. We are a subsidiary of Maudsley Charity, an independent charity working to back better mental health and our sole shareholder.  ORTUS operates on a break-even basis for the benefit of the community, the charity’s partners and grantees.

We are situated in a centre of world-class excellence in the field of mental health and wellbeing. Our neighbours and partners are the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, King’s College London’s Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience and King’s College London.

The Maudsley name has a proud heritage and embodies an ethos of collaboration between ground-breaking academic research and expert clinical treatment.
